Visa Waiver Visitor? Be informed.
Irish in Motion: Connecting Irish communities with care, insight, and support.
We get it. No one wants to think about worst-case scenarios. But if you entered on the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), being informed can protect you and your loved ones.
Things to keep in mind:
- Don’t open the door unless they show a warrant signed by a judge with your name.
- You have the right to remain silent.
- Never lie or show false documents.
- Don’t sign anything before consulting a lawyer.
- If detained, identify yourself and let them know about any close U.S. relatives.
Information is power, and preparation can protect you and your loved ones.
