Member Center Spotlight: Rian Immigrant Center
The Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers is proud to feature Coalition member, the Rian Immigrant Center, New England’s Welcome Center for immigrant and refugee families. For more than three decades, Rian has empowered thousands of people on their path to safety, stability, and opportunity, while maintaining strong ties to Ireland through cultural exchange and community partnerships.
A Strong Foundation
Founded in Boston in 1989, Rian was created as a place where Irish immigrants could find trusted guidance and support. Over the years, the Center’s reach has expanded far beyond its original focus. Today, Rian serves immigrant and refugee families from more than 120 different countries.
Their mission remains constant: to empower immigrants, refugees, and international exchange visitors on the path to opportunity, safety, and a better future.
Programs That Make A Difference
Rian’s multi-service approach offers services like:
- Immigration Legal Services – guiding families through complex legal processes.
- Resource and Support Services – helping immigrants access healthcare, education, and stability.
- International Exchange Visitor Visa Program – sponsoring Irish students and graduates to gain professional experience in the U.S.
- Community Building & Advocacy – hosting intercultural programs and advocating for just and humane immigration policies.
Their work is deeply personal. Just this year, Rian reunited a mother from El Salvador with her son after nearly a decade apart, proof of the life-changing impact of their legal advocacy and persistence.
