Member Center Spotlight: Irish Heritage Club of Seattle
The Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers is proud to highlight the Irish Heritage Club of Seattle, a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting Irish culture and traditions throughout the Seattle region and Washington State.
A Welcoming Community
Since its founding, the Irish Heritage Club has embraced the spirit of Céad Míle Fáilte—“a hundred thousand welcomes.” The organization invites everyone with an interest in Irish culture to participate in events, programs, and community gatherings that honor Ireland’s rich heritage while fostering inclusivity and connection.
Programs and Activities
The Club is well-known for organizing and promoting a wide range of Irish cultural activities, including but not limited to:
- Annual 1-week Irish festival & St Patrick’s Day Parade
- Annual cultural celebrations
- Emerald City Irish Film Festival
- Irish language, music, dance, GAA sports, genealogy, and cooking programs
- Partnerships with local cultural institutions
- Seniors Welfare Program
- Community events that connect Irish-Americans and friends of Ireland
- Membership of the Coalition of Irish Immigration Centres linking the community to important advisory resources
Impact
From large-scale public celebrations to intimate community gatherings, the Irish Heritage Club keeps Irish culture alive and thriving in Seattle and the greater Seattle area. Its programs connect generations, preserve traditions, and create space for cultural exchange, ensuring Ireland’s legacy has a strong and vibrant home in the Pacific Northwest.
